COMMITTEES TO JOIN

               Annual Christmas Boutique/Greens
                           (Ways and Means)

The "Ways and Means/Boutique" committee works on our annual Christmas Boutique held at the Braintree Town Hall.  The "Ways and Means" chairperson solicits and accepts requests to rent tables at the boutique. On the day of the event committee members set up the tables, assist vendors to set up, and sell raffle tickets throughout  the day.

Also, showcased at this event is a raffle to win items donated by our vendors.  This past year we have added a "Scratch ticket Wreath".  A member of the guild decorates a beautiful Christmas wreath, then adorns it with $250. worth of scratch tickets.  The total number of raffle tickets to this wreath is limited to 100, thereby increasing your chances to win!

The"Ways and Means/Greens" committee members help work on our Greens Workshop held the week prior to the Boutique.  At this workshop members bring fresh evergreens they have gathered and create gorgeous wreaths and arrangements to sell at the boutique.  On the day of the event "Greens" committee members help to sell the items made by our members.  It is a fun event for members and all who come to shop on the day of the event.  A great way to kick off the holiday season!

Community Beautification

Our Community Beautification committee members can be found at several garden locations around Braintree weeding, grooming and planting new flowering plants to help beautify Braintree.  This committee does most of its work from May thru September when gardens are in bloom here in the northeast.  Money earned from our annual Christmas Boutique and Spring Plant Sale fund these efforts.  The gardens we tend around town are as follows:

                            -  Beehive time capsule (Town Hall)

                            -  Thayer House herb gardens

                            -  Hollis Playground

                            -  Plain St Cemetery

                            -  Marge Crispin Center

                            -  Council on Aging garden

Our more "seasoned" members work alongside members who are just getting started in the garden to assist and lend advice on gardening.
